The whole family has been ‘volunteered’ to help from time to time. Since this photo, Karen’s Dad and Patrick’s Mum have sadly passed away.

Welsh Ponies have helped us to make new friends all over the world. They also use up valuable spare time for the rest of the family and any friends we can get to help out.        - The joys of showing!!

Carrwood Stud was established in 1980 at Carr Farm, Furness Vale, ( Karen’s parents’ farm. seen in painting above). The first Carrwood Section B broodmare was Morwyn Nicotiana and her first foal bred at Carrwood was Carrwood Cascade in 1981 (seen below.)

One we will never forget, Carrwood Diplomat, Welsh Part-bred by Twylands Troubadour out of Morwyn Nicotiana, many, many times Champion for us in the 1980,s. Seen here being run out by Karen in 1986 at North Western Association Spring Show.

The late Thomas Ellis Harrison was a life-long stockman and a major influence on the stud. He is shown here with  Carrwood Mandolin.
